Frame Loom Weaving Workshop - 30th October
Come and join us on the family farm, set within 300 acres of rolling Hampshire countryside. The day will be held in the newly built, wonderful oak framed barn looking out over the sheep pastures. A fun and informative day of learning hosted by Chantelle Simons our Resident Weaver at The Little Grey Sheep.
This workshop is an introduction to weaving and suitable for complete beginners. For those with some experience you can develop your skills and explore colour, pattern and texture.
An introduction to the basic principles, techniques and terminology of weaving as you explore and learn to create your own woven project. By the end of the day you will know how to warp the frame loom, basic techniques of weaving and how to finish your very own unique fabric, taking home with you your finished woven piece and clear workshop hand-outs ready to remind you of what you learnt so you can keep creating at home. Should you wish you may purchase your frame loom to continue with new projects at home.
Locally roasted coffee and a selection of teas will be available throughout the day, along with afternoon cake, homemade of course. Emma will talk about how she and Susie look after the flock to produce quality fleeces, and give you some strategies on how to choose the right yarn for your next project. Emma and Chantelle will be on hand to help you to build confidence to continue weaving once you leave the farm.
