The Birdie Shawl is an update on a shawl I designed in 2016. During in the Covid craziness I started to play golf! it soon became quite an addiction and I wanted to play in all weathers. Having a cosy shawl to keep my neck warm was a must, so I looked back into some of my designs and reimagined The Birdie Shawl.
All yarn is hand-dyed by myself on the farm and is available in array of the most beautiful colours. The only difficulty is choosing which shades to work with.
The Birdie Shawl is worked from the bottom up starting with the lace border, comprising of simple yarnover’s and knit togethers. The crescent shape is achieved by working short rows and the result is a long shallow shawl that is very easy to wear.
A choice of either garter stitch of stocking stitch for the body depending on your own preference.

There are three options:
Stein Fine Wool® 4ply a super soft drapey shawl, worsted spun yarn from our own Trademarked fine wool flock.
Gotland DK a lustrous arm fibre raised, spun and dyed on the farm.
Hampshire 4ply a traditional woollen spun yarn with lots of memory and a slight bloom.
The kit is for the yarn and includes the pattern.
