Susie had her first taste of her life to come at 10 years old, taking over the responsibility of a ram and two ewes from her brother. By the time she was 16 she had persuaded her mother to rent an additional 70 acres and her flock developed to 100 breeding ewes.
It was when her shearer didn't turn up one year she took her first steps to becoming a expert shearer. Now the only female shearing instructor for the British Wool Board, and a regular competitor at the major agricultural shows.
Susie's management of the flock is based on compassionate and sustainable farming. Looking to improve our fibre, the quality of care and care of the landscape make her truly unique.
